The business of audiology is a rapidly expanding sector of the profession.  Audiologists choosing this path are truly fostering the successful transition of audiology from an obscure university science into a truly entrepreneurial, business-oriented doctoring profession.  Audiology is now taking its rightful place alongside other doctoring professions such as optometry, dentistry, and chiropractic.  While quite different from these other professions, it has become a stand-alone, professional business enterprise poised to treat the huge Baby Boomer hearing impaired population for the next 50 years (Windmill& Freeman, 2019).
